Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator

The group entered the hotel. When they did, the intercom said they were trespassing through American property. Then it said to identify themselves.Charlie yelled out gibberish words. Mr.Wonka got the idea and also yelled out gibberish. The space control station in Texas had an interpreter with them, and he said it wasn't a language on Earth. He said the were men from Mars. Everybody else believed him.

Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator

The security guards of the hotel broadcasted the elevator on TV so everybody can see the people bring in the "bomb" into the hotel. The President thought they were Russians. He called Russia to let them know 7 Russians were going to blow up a hotel. One person told the President that the guy with the pointed beard looked Chinese. Then the President called China and people said they were not Chinese but they didn't know what nationality they were. so the President thought Charlie and his friends were Martians.

The group needed to use the elevator's rockets to fly to the hotel. Charlie and Grandpa Joe tried swimming to the rocket switches, but Mr.Wonka said you have to blow as hard as you can to move. They blew themselves to the rocket switches and turned them on.The elevator started to move to the hotel. Everybody started to goof off and flew all over the elevator.The security guards told the President they were doing some war dance and they were Indians. The President told them to keep them out of the hotel.

The group in the elevator saw a space hotel named Space Hotel U.S.A. The elevator started to fly to the hotel. The security of the hotel saw the elevator and reported to the president. The 3 security guards told the president that there was a 10 year old kid, a guy with fancy clothes and a pointed beard, 2 adults, 4 elderly people, and a bed inside a flying glass elevator. The president thought the security guards were going nuts because they saw a bed and told them to look at it again. The security guards said it was a bed. The president then said it was actually a disguised bomb. Then he said to keep an eye on the elevator.

Charlie, his family, and Mr.Wonka were on a glass elevator that was flying up into the air.Everybody except Mr. Wonka was worried they were going to die they thought they were going to space.Mr.Wonka explained that he had to press the green flashing button at the right time to land in Earth or the will go to far into space. Everybody was getting freaked out, so they bothered Mr. Wonka and he missed the chance to press the button, so they were stuck in space. He pressed a button that gave the elevator oxygen. Mr.Wonka didn't know what to do now.

Matilda

Ms. Trunchbull went mysteriously missing, so Ms. Honey moved to where her aunt lived. Matilda was welcome at any time.Matilda's parents were going to Spain forever, so Matilda told Ms. Honey about them,and Ms. Honey told Matilda that her dad was actually a crook. The parents rushed their car to the airport, but Matilda stayed with Ms. Honey to live with her.

The Trunchbull was teaching again, and she tested a kid on his 3-times tables. She said to him to recite the 3-times tables backwards. Ms. Honey told the Trunchbull that there was no point for teaching multiplication backwards. But, a kid looked at the chalkboard and saw a floating chalk writing something. The Trunchbull looked at it, and it wrote that she should give Ms. Honey her own house back. Then it wrote, "I'm watching you, Agatha Trunchbull." Who could it be?

Matilda

Matilda went back to her house. She remembered earlier when a baby croc was in a glass of water, she whispered to herself to tip it over, and it did. Matilda wondered if she had powers.She stole one of her dad's cigars and put on the table in her room. She stared at it for a long time. Eventually, the cigar started to float in midair. She practiced for an hour making it float. She got tired, and fell asleep.

Matilda

Ms. Honey decided to tell Matilda a story while they were in the cottage. Ms. Honey's mom died when Ms. Honey was 2, and when she was 6, Ms.Honey's dad committed suicide. So, Ms. Honey was alone for a few months, then her aunt came to the house, and they moved to a cottage. Then, Ms. Honey told Matilda she went to college when she was 18 and she graduated when she was 20. Right now she is 23. After that, Ms. Honey admitted something. She said to keep it secret. The secret is that Ms. Honey's aunt is Ms. Trunchbull. Maybe that's why she had a hard time living when her aunt came.

Matilda

Ms. Honey wanted Matilda to come with her to a place. Ms. Honey walked out of the school, and into a forest. Then they saw a gate and opened it to find a small cottage. Matilda asked why they where there, and Ms. Honey told her that it was her house. They went inside, and Ms. Honey got some cups out to have tea. Ms. Honey asked Matilda to get a bucket of water from the well by the cottage. Later, Matilda returned with the bucket of water. They talked, and Ms. Honey admitted she was poor and did not have much money.

Matilda

Matilda wanted to talk to Ms. Honey about Ms. Trunchbull. Turns out, Ms. Honey was the one who put the baby crocodile in the cup of water. Matilda still wasn't happy about Ms. Trunchbull. Matilda and Ms. Honey were the only people inside the classroom because all the other kids were outside playing. Matilda didn't feel like going outside. Instead, she got out her big book and read it.

Matilda

Ms.Trunchbull found a baby crocodile in her water cup, and she blamed Matilda for it. Matilda started to get mad, but she calmed down to think. Matilda was whispering to the crocodile to tip over the cup. It did, and Ms. Trunchbull blamed Matilda again. The class told her nobody got out of their seat and she tipped it over. Ms.Trunchbull got mad and went out of the classroom. Then Ms. Honey let everyone in the class play outside until it was the end of the school day.

Matilda

It's Thursday and It's 2:00. That means it's time for Ms.Trunchbull to teach! :( Ms. Trunchbull looked at the class. She told everyone to put thier hands up so she can see if they are clean. Eventually, she found a kid with filthy hands named Nigel. She took a closer look at him. His hands were dirty and there was some baked beans from when the kids ate lunch on his shirt. She asked what 7 plus 7 was, and a kid blurted out 16. Nigel then answered 15. Then Ms.Trunchbull got really mad at the kid who shouted out and picked him up by the ears and threw him on to the ground.

Matilda

Ms. Honey told the class that Ms. Trunchbull is going to teach the class every Thursday at 2:00 PM after lunch. Then she told the class what you shouldn't do when Ms. Trunchbull is teaching:

• Make sure your clothes, hands, and face are clean.
• Speak only when your supposed to.
• Don't talk back.
• Don't try to be funny.

If you did any of those, Ms. Trunchbull would go crazy. She needs a glass and a jug of water on her desk while teaching, so Ms.Honey put Lavender in charge to make sure the 2 things were there.

Matilda

Hortensia was still telling Matilda and Lavender about the Chokey. Hortensia did not go there one time. She was sent there twice. The second time she went to the Chokey she was in there for a whole day of school. When she came out, she had scratches and cuts all over her. She looked like she was in a war. She was also going completely insane when she came out. She was sent to the Chokey just because she had pigtails. Ms.Trunchbull went crazy if she saw pigtails.

Matilda

Matilda and her friend, Lavender, where at the playground. They came across a 10 year old girl whose name is Hortensia. Hortensia introduced herself and began telling a story about The Choker. It's a box 10 feet tall and you can't sit down or squat because it's only10 inches wide.3 of the walls are made of cement with small broken bits of glass and the door had sharp nails so you can't move around.Hortensia was once sent to the Chokey and she said it was horrible.

Matilda

After leaving Ms. Trunchbull's office, Ms. Honey returned to her classroom and gave Matilda some 5th grade books on all the subjects of school. After school, Ms. Honey had a conference with Matilda's parents. Ms. Honey asked them if they were exited that Matilda was smarter than the other students, but they didn't care at all. Matilda's dad asked if Matilda was already in trouble, but Ms.Honey said that Matilda was her best student.

Miss Honey was amazed by how smart Matilda was, so she went to Miss Trunchbull. Miss Trunchbull was a mean, ugly headmistress. All the students and teachers were afraid of her. Miss Honey told her about Matilda Wormwood. Miss Trunchbull remembered getting a car from Matilda's dad and that he told her that she was a pain in the neck. Miss Trunchbull thinks Matilda is a big troublemaker. Miss Honey tries to tell Miss Trunchbull that Matilda is a good girl, but she didn't listen.

It's Matilda's 1st day of Kindergarten. She was doing everything like a 6th grader and the other 5 year-olds didn't know what she was doing. Matilda was already multiplying and she said she liked reading Narnia books and Charles Dickens books. She was in the bottom class, too! Her teacher, Ms. Honey, was wondering how the heck Matilda was so smart.

Her dad's hair has grown back, and Matilda decides to mess with it again. Her dad always puts a purple colored oil on his hair to make it look healthy every morning after he shaves. Well, one morning, before her dad came in the bathroom, Matilda dumped most of the oil down the drain and filled the rest of the bottle with her mom's blond hair dye. Matilda shook the bottle up and the dye looked purple. She put it back and got out of the bathroom.Soon, her dad came out with blond hair. Everyone thought he dyed it himself ( except Matilda ).

Matilda's dad was mad at her. While Matilda was reading The red Pony, her dad snatched it and ripped it up. It was a library book, and the horrible dad didn't care at all. Instead of whining or crying, Matilda just sat there. She was thinking of a plan. A plan to get revenge. Later, Matilda asked her friend if she could have his talking parrot. all it says is hullo,hullo hullo. Matilda took it to her house and put it in the fireplace. The parents heard the parrot and thought it was a robber. They got a golf club and a frying pan. Matilda acted like she didn't know what the noise was. They looked around and when they found the parrot, her dad kicked it out of the house.

Matilda's dad is a car dealer. Matilda was angry at him,so she decided to play a little trick on him.Right before her dad left for work, Matilda grabbed a hat and a bottle of superglue.The hat was the one her dad always wore to work. Matilda's plan was to put the superglue in the hat, which her dad would put on, and the hat would get stuck in his head.Matilda knew it would stick, because a kid somehow got superglue on his finger, and stuck it up his nose. He couldn't get his finger out for a week. Matilda carefully put superglue into the hat, and set it upside-down on a table. Her dad picked up the hat and put it on his head. He tried everything to get it off. 3 days later, he cut off the hat. He had to cut off most of his hair, so he looked like a weirdo.

This story is about a girl who loves to read, named Matilda. She started talking at age one, and her ability to speak was perfect a few months later.When she was 3, she started to read newspapers.
Once she was 4, her reading was really fast. She asked for books and she got the children's books. A few days later, she finished all 10. Her parents got her a BIG book, and she finished all 411 pages of it.

I finally finished the book! Greg's family went to the Snella's last day of school party.Greg wasn't happy because he was going to be in boot camp all of Summer Break.The next morning,when Greg wakes up,it's past 11:00 AM.His dad was supposed to drive him to Spag Union at 8. Greg went downstairs and saw his dad reading the newspaper. His dad said he changed his mind about boot camp. Greg could just do some exercise every once in a while instead. Greg was happy and visited Rowley. While he was walking,he realized he was on Summer Break.

I read my remaining book I got from the library. Some new facts I learned are:

• When Jefferson was writing the Declaration of Independence, he was in the second floor of a three story house on Market Street.
• The Louisiana purchase was $15,000,000.
• The Louisiana purchase was over 800,000 square miles long.
• Alexander Hamilton was Thomas Jefferson's rival when Washington was President.
• When Martha died, Thomas Jefferson never remarried.
• Monticello is one of America's most famous houses.
• Martha's death at a young age really affected Thomas Jefferson.
  

Thomas Jefferson:Our Third President

Today I read one of my other books I got from yesterday. Here's some facts I got from the book.

• The editors of the Declaration of Independence made 86 changes to the rough draft.
• Jefferson's wife died when she was giving birth to their 6th child,
• Jefferson sometimes wrote letters for 10 hours a day.
• The Jefferson Memorial opened in 1943.
• Sometimes people would stay in the Monticello overnight like a hotel because it was such a nice house.
• Thomas Jefferson worked on his house for 40 years.

Today after school I went to the Centennial Hills Library to get a few Thomas Jefferson books.
This book was about Thomas Jefferson's life. He was born on April 2, 1743. He had 2 sisters, Jane and Mary. When he was born, Mary was 2 and Jane was 3. Then they had 3 more daughters. Once Thomas was 12, his mom had twins: Randolph and Anna. There was 8 kids in his family. When Thomas was 14, his dad passed away. When his dad died, he started going to school.

Researching for 30 minutes!

Tonight I did research on Thomas Jefferson. I have some not well known facts and a timeline. Some facts are:

• Thomas Jefferson was born at Shadwell in 1735
  
• His dad died 14 years after he was born
  
• He died on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence ( July 4th, 1826 )
  
• In 1777, his wife had a baby. It died right after it was born.
• Thomas Jefferson played the violin.

I will probably do more research tomorrow.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The company has just finished the wedding and are now at the party. Harry has never been to a wedding, so he doesn't really know what they do. Ron and Hermione are dancing, and Harry is talking with a man named Doge. Harry and Doge talk about Dumbledore and Rita Skeeter. Once they are done discussing, Harry wants to talk to Ron about it, but he can't find him in the dance floor. Hermione is also wanting to find Ron when Harry finds her and tells her everything.
I read for 30 minutes pages 141 - 160.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Ron's parents are getting married. At 3:00 Harry, Ron, Fred, and George stand outside the marquee waiting for the wedding guests to arrive there. Earlier Fred and George decorated the marquee with lots of gold streamers and balloons, so the indoor part of the marquee looked pretty. Since there is lots of ridiculous things going on, Fred says when he's getting married, he won't bother with all the nonsense and they should make everything back to normal.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It's Harry's 17th birthday and him and his friends are setting up the house for a party. Ron and Hermione are setting up the backyard with their wands while Harry sets up the table inside. Mrs. Weasley brings in a giant " happy 17 " birthday cake for everyone to have for dessert. Harry cooks the dinner after he's done making the tables. Everyone arrived near 7:00. Someone named Rufus arrived and said he's there to crash the party.

Greg is once again trying to be Holly Hills's boyfriend. When he goes to church, when everybody shakes hands, Greg shakes Holly's hand and makes a big deal of it. That way Holly will like him more. That night Greg tries to call Holly and introduce himself to her, but Rodrick finds out and hides all the phones in the house except their parents'. Greg knows his parents will get mad so he has to sneak in. Greg gets in the parents' room and reaches for the phone, but his dad is about to come in. Greg snatches the phone and hides under a blanket. His dad sits down on the bed and starts reading a book. Greg was scooching slowly to the door. When he was about 5 feet away from the door, the phone suddenly rang! His dad almost had a heart attack and pushed Greg out the door.

Greg has joined boy scouts. He figured he wouldn't have to go to soccer and boot camp. He convinced his friend Rowley to go, too. They were deciding what merit badge to go for. They went for whittling. Greg figured it was a lot harder than he thought before. It took forever to carve a wooden box, and Rowley got 6 splinters in less than 5 seconds. They asked for something easier, so they got to play with soap. Greg squeezed the soap and turned it in as a sheep. Then he turned it upside down and turned it in as the Titanic. The teacher accepted both of those.

Greg's dad is planning to have Greg go to the boot camp Spag Union. Greg didn't want to go because there are a bunch of teens there and he doesn't go good with them. Greg was talking about how he needs privacy while he takes a shower. He thinks its one of those boot camps where there are no shower doors and instead, there is a giant room where you shower.
Speaking of bathrooms, Greg's school's lunchroom bathrooms have been turned into a war zone. Someone started the idea to throw wet paper towels at each other. Greg told somebody a rumor that the new air fresheners were actually security cameras. The next day the bathroom was completely quiet.

Greg's soccer team is having a soccer game. Greg is the player who chases the ball if it goes out of bounds (A.K.A the shag). It was really cold outside. Greg asked his dad to give him his jacket, but his dad said no, so Greg had to be out there with no jacket. Someone volunteered for the shag, so Greg did nothing. Two other kids had sleeping bags on AND they were in a SUV watching TV. Greg just sat on the bench doing nothing except being cold.

Greg went to a sleepover at Rowley's friend's house. 2 things told Greg this wouldn't be good.
1:There was no other kid older than 6.
2:Everyone was wearing karate gear.
Greg said everyone should sneak out and crash someone else's party.All the other kids were more intrested in "Sesame Street" than sneaking out.Then everybody got into a giant pillow fight. Greg tried to go to sleep, but someone kept falling down on him every 5 seconds. He decided to sleep in the basement. It was hard sleeping in a freezing room with no blankets. The next morning Greg figures out that somebody left the backyard door open which made the basement cold.

Greg's family went to church today. When Greg was walking inside, he realized that there was chocolate on his pants.He thinks it was from Manny's chocolate Easter bunny. Rodrick said Greg could wear his pants, but their mom put her jacket around him and wore it like a dress. Holly Hills was at the church, too, the girl who he wants to be his girlfriend. He didn't know which was worse: having chocolate on fancy pants or wearing a jacket like a dress.

Greg was going to get some candy, but there was none left. There was a whole pile of candy the day before. Greg wants to catch the thief, so that night, he hid in the laundry basket. His mom came in and dumped a pile of clothes on Greg that just came out of the dryer. Greg was all cozy and warm, and he fell asleep. He woke up to the sound of crinkling cellophane. Greg got his flashlight and shined it on the thief. It was his dad! Greg got really mad at him for stealing his candy.

Greg's school is passing out report cards, and when Greg showed it to his mom, she did not look happy. She was going to show it to his dad when he got home. Whenever Greg is in trouble, he invites his grandma over so Greg's dad won't go crazy right in front of his mom. When Greg's grandma was going to the casino to play bingo, Greg tagged along. He had trouble playing. The next day at school he flunks his science test. He could have stayed home and study instead of going to the casino to play 4 hours of bingo.

Greg's teacher , Mrs. Craig was in a bad mood because her big dictionary was missing. Nobody was confessing, so she made them stay in from recess until the book was returned. She said there would be no punishments for the person who has the dictionary. The kids wanted the smartest kid in the class, Alex, to figure out the mystery. He was reading a book and believe it or not, it was the dictionary. The kids made this one kid named Corey put the book on the desk. He got caught by Mrs. Craig and now he has detention for a week. I don't think he was happy because Mrs. Craig lied.

Greg is starting to take after school naps. He says he's an expert at falling asleep, but Rodrick is better. Rodrick once needed a new bed, so what was left of the mattress was only the empty bed frame and Rodrick was fast asleep. Greg says his naps are affecting his grades. Now he tries to do his homework and watch TV at the same time, but it doesn't work. He had a Biology paper due that day, so he did it in the school's computer lab. The next day he got a F on his paper.

Greg wants to be Holly Hills' boyfriend. In 4th period (the only class with Holly), Greg's mom came in saying " You forgot your backpack, sweetie"! What was even worse is that she finally decided to start going to the gym, so she was wearing gym clothes. I think Greg felt embarrassed because everyone was smiling and laughing at him.

Greg wants to take a break of walking to school on this Saturday. There was nothing on TV to watch, but he was all comfortable in the couch. He tried using the force to get the TV remote, but nothing happened. His dad was there the whole 15 minutes Greg was trying to use the force. Greg's dad wants him to be stronger and not such a wimp. At school, a student said this one Chinese kid jumped over 6 feet high because he worked out. Greg tried digging a hole in the ground, but it was frozen solid.

The bus Greg usually takes was full of teenagers from Whirley Street (the neighborhood next to Greg's ). They were making monkey faces and sounds like Greg did himself. Speaking of teenagers, Greg's dad was glad that day because Lenwood Heath ( his enemy ) was sent to military academy by his parents. Manny has been getting out of his bed and watching TV with Greg and thier mom for the past week. It's not fair to Greg because when he was Manny's age, he wasn't allowed to watch TV like Manny.

Greg's dad is going to try his diet again. He's gone three whole days with no sweets, and he's getting really cranky. Greg was being woken up by his dad in the morning. When Greg fell back to sleep, his dad got angry at him. Greg will try not to do that again. The next morning, Greg finds out he has to walk to school now because his bus was rezoned. What I think will happen next is that Greg's dad will get mad at the teens that live in the neighborhood.

Greg Heffley wants to make New Year's resolutions for his family. He's not doing it for himself because he thinks he is perfect. Greg wants his mom to stop eating chips so loud. His dad wants to go on a diet, but when Greg went to the basement, there was his dad with brownies stuffed in his mouth. Greg's little brother, Manny, was going to throw away his pacifier for good, but the next thing he knew, Manny dug his binkie out of the trash can and was sucking on it. Greg's older brother, Rodrick,did not make any resolutions.Greg made up a "3 strikes and your out" method, but Rodrick was beating Greg up before he could even explain the method. What I think what will happen next is that Greg will try harder to make everyone better.

SpongeBob Superstar

SpongeBob forgot to practice his stunt. He headed for the Krusty Krab for the auditions. Patrick was there doing his stunt. He was going to see how many licks it would take to finish an ice cream cone, but he accidently ate it. SpongeBob's other friend, Sandy, said she was going to be a guest star on the special show. SpongeBob just made up a stunt when he got called to show his stunt. He said he was going to make 300 burgers in a row with his flipping hand tied to his back and his eyes blindfolded. The stunt made everyone laugh, so the director changed the show from dardevil,to comedy and SpongeBob was the star of the show. What I think will happen next is that SpongBob will have to go through a series of stunts that will make everyone laugh.

Spongebob Superstar

SpongeBob picks up a paper about being on a daredevil TV special. SpongeBob shows his friend, Patrick, the paper. Both of them want to do it, so they started making up ideas for their stunt. Patrick does not know what to do, so SpongeBob suggests he should do somthing with ice cream. SpongeBob wants to practice his stunt, but a " Mermaidman and Barnacleboy" marathon is on that night. The next morning, he found that the TV was turned on, showing the news channel.

Shredderman 3

This story is about a 5th grader named Nolan who is actually cyber-superhero Shredderman. Nolan's dad barges into Nolan's room telling him about his birthday present. They are going to meet Chase Morton who plays The Gecko in " The Gecko and Sticky." On Nolan's birthday, they are going to go to an interview with Chase himself in Old Town. I think what will happen next is Nolan and his dad will go to Old Town for the interview with Chase.

A Wrinkle in Time

The next morning, Margaret, Charles, and their mom go downstairs to get ready to go to school. Margaret's mom checked on Margaret's bruise she got in the beginning of the book. She says that kid gave her a bad bruise. Charles says he's going to talk to Ms.Whatsit for her. Margaret doesn't know who Ms.Whatsit is, so Charles tells her she lives in the "haunted" house in the woods. I think what will happen next is that Margaret will go into the woods to find Ms.Whatsit.
